After graduating from Sterling, I worked for the CT Department
of Environmental Protection, working at a couple of state parks.
In May of 1980 I headed to Grangeville Idaho where
I would work in the Nezperce National Forest for 2 seasons. 2 of the best years of my life while I was single.
Love working out in the forest everyday from planting trees and doing studies to fighting forest fires. Met up with
a few other from our class as well.
Ended up working in computers with the State of CT for the last 21 years.
My wife's name is Roxanne and I have 3 children, Rebecca-Lee, CJ and Sandra.
On
the side, became a historian of women's basketball. My grandmother played during the depression and I wanted to
learn how we got from then to now. Nothing existed on the internet at the time and i began to look. From
what started at a computer 14 years ago has become many exhibitions, articles in magazines, newspapers (including USA Today),
tv. It is strictly a hobby, no money made. However, to help make a difference in educating others about
the joys and struggles of what it even took girls and women to play basketball when it wasnt a cool thing to do, has been
very fullfilling.
Also working on a book
of the pioneers of professional women's basketball (check out other tabs on site to get an idea of my other interest).
Sterling did so much for me. As much as I loved working in Idaho, it is what I learned about myself
that I took from Sterling. How far I could really push myself to achieve a goal. The importance of us taking care
of our planet is something I have passed onto my kids and we even helped preserve some pristine land along the CT River from
developers. Keeping integrity in everything we do.
I look forward to seeing you up in Craftsbury for the
reunion and share some new stories and old memories
